Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about sharing your recovery, protecting your privacy, and using Real Health Journeys.
About Real Health Journeys
What this archive is and who it's for
What is Real Health Journeys?
Real Health Journeys is a public, searchable archive of documented health recoveries. People who have healed from chronic or serious conditions share their stories — along with optional supporting documentation — so others facing similar challenges can find hope, patterns, and practical insight.
Who can submit a story?
Anyone who has experienced meaningful improvement or recovery from a health condition can submit. Whether you fully recovered or made significant progress, your experience can help someone else feel less alone in their own journey.
Is this a medical advice website?
No. Every story is a personal account, not medical advice, and is never a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions about your health.
Why do you collect these stories?
Recovery stories are often scattered across forums, social media, and private conversations. We gather them in one place so the patterns become visible and searchable — turning isolated experiences into a shared, lasting resource.
Sharing Your Journey
How to document and publish your journey
How do I submit my healing story?
Click "Share Your Story" and follow the guided form. You'll describe your condition, your recovery journey, and what helped. The essentials take about 2 minutes; the full story about 20–30. You can save a draft and return later.
Do I need to be completely healed to share my story?
Not at all. Partial recoveries and ongoing improvements are just as valuable. What matters is documenting honest, real progress that others can learn from.
What types of conditions can I share about?
Any condition — chronic illness, autoimmune disease, mental health, injury recovery, and more. If it shaped your health journey and you experienced change, it belongs here. If your condition isn't in our catalog yet, just type it in and we'll add it.
What documentation should I include?
Documentation is optional but encouraged — it strengthens your story and supports others. We accept medical records, lab results, diagnostic imaging, doctor's notes, prescription histories, before/after photos, and provider testimonies. Everything is anonymized to remove personal identifiers before publishing.
Can I edit my story after submitting?
Yes. You retain full control of your story and can update, revise, or remove it at any time from your stories page. Edits to a published story go through a quick review before the updated version goes live.
Privacy & Trust
How we keep your information safe
How is my privacy protected?
Every story is published under your pen name — one public name you choose or generate, never your real name or email. All uploaded documentation is reviewed and anonymized to remove personal identifiers before it ever becomes public.
Will my personal information be public?
Never. Contact details and private identifiers are never published. Only the content you explicitly include appears on your public story, and every story is reviewed before it goes live.
How is documentation verified?
Our team reviews submitted documentation for authenticity and consistency before a story is published, and decides with you what becomes publicly visible.
Browsing & Connecting
Finding stories and connecting with others
Is it free to use?
Yes. Reading stories, searching by condition, and submitting your own journey are all completely free. Real Health Journeys is built as a public resource.
How do I search for specific conditions?
Use the search bar on the home page or browse the Conditions page to find recoveries by diagnosis. Each condition page collects every journey shared about it.
Can I contact someone who shared a story?
Private messaging between members is coming soon. Many storytellers are happy to connect and share more about what worked for them.
