The mitral valve narrows, obstructing blood flow from the heart's left atrium to the left ventricle.
Mitral Regurgitation
The mitral valve leaks, allowing blood to flow backward into the left atrium when the heart contracts.
Tricuspid or Pulmonary Valve Disease
Stenosis or regurgitation affecting the tricuspid valve (between right atrium and ventricle) or pulmonary valve (between right ventricle and pulmonary artery).
